Kindred Hospitals - Special Statement on Hurricane Ian

TAMPA, FL (Sept. 28, 2022) – The safety and security of our patients and teammates are paramount to the Kindred Hospital family. Our hearts and minds are with all affected individuals in Florida facing Hurricane Ian and its aftermath.

Due to the severe nature of Hurricane Ian, we have safely evacuated all our patients at Kindred Hospital Bay Area – Tampa and Kindred Hospital Bay Area – St. Petersburg locations to other facilities.  Families will be notified when their loved ones are expected to return to these campuses.

We extend our gratitude to everyone who works at the hospitals that accepted our transferred patients, and to everyone who accompanied our patients while they were transported to other facilities in order to ensure their safety. We also thank our leadership team for their vision, decisiveness and collaboration in rallying to coordinate all of the transitions of care.

The storm is rapidly changing and we are tracking it, and its potential impacts, closely. Please visit the websites for Kindred Hospital Bay Area – Tampa and Kindred Hospital Bay Area – St. Petersburg for updates and emergency contact numbers.
