ScionHealth Announces Agreement for Lifepoint Health to Acquire Eight Community Hospitals
Transaction will enhance long-term support of ScionHealth’s network of hospitals and focus the business on core operations strategies
Louisville, KY (March 6, 2026) – ScionHealth and Lifepoint Health have signed an agreement for Lifepoint to acquire eight community hospitals from ScionHealth. Once the transaction is complete, ScionHealth’s operations will be concentrated on specialty hospital services with a small community hospital footprint in select markets.
The hospitals included in the transaction are:
- Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland, Mississippi
- Ennis Regional Medical Center in Ennis, Texas
- Livingston Regional Hospital in Livingston, Tennessee
- Logan Regional Medical Center in Logan, West Virginia
- Palestine Regional Medical Center in Palestine, Texas
- Parkview Regional Hospital in Mexia, Texas
- St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, Idaho
- Watertown Regional Medical Center in Watertown, Wisconsin
ScionHealth and Lifepoint share a commitment to the delivery of high-quality, community-based healthcare. The companies believe that this group of facilities will be well supported within Lifepoint’s network of locations and complementary services. Once finalized, the transaction will be seamless for patients and communities. As part of the agreement, current employees and providers at the eight facilities will transition to Lifepoint, and all existing services will continue.
This transaction is part of a broader effort by ScionHealth to strengthen the company’s capital structure, focus on core strategies, and enhance the long-term support of the hospitals and communities it serves. The acquisition is expected to be completed in 60-90 days, subject to customary closing conditions.
