At ScionHealth, our purpose is to empower the hands that heal to do what they do best. The healing hands of our caregivers are the foundation of everything we do, and our caregivers deserve all the gratitude, admiration and support we could ever deliver. One important and joyful way to make our caregivers feel empowered is to recognize, honor and celebrate their courageous, compassionate work. In 2022, ScionHealth created the Monarch Caring and Community Award as the company’s highest annual award to honor its exceptional caregivers.
In 2023, we continue that tradition by honoring caregivers at our Kindred, Cornerstone and Solara specialty hospitals and Cornerstone senior living communities (all of which combine to form our Specialty Hospital Division), and our community hospital locations (Community Hospital Division) across the country.

ScionHealth’s Monarch Caring and Community Award is the company’s highest annual award to honor caregivers from our Specialty and Community hospital divisions. The Monarch Award recognizes exceptional, highly skilled caregivers who consistently go above and beyond to deliver excellent patient care and to elevate the patient experience. They are dedicated to supporting their colleagues and their communities, and in everything they do, they exemplify ScionHealth’s values: Valuing Every Voice, Showing Courage, and Leaning into New Ideas.
What is the symbolism of the Monarch Caring and Community Award?
The regal aspect of the name of the Monarch Award conveys the prestige and honor of ScionHealth’s highest award, while “monarch” and the award’s logo also suggest nature and nurturing, with monarch butterflies representing strength, endurance, and transformation. The same can be said for our most outstanding caregivers, who provide comfort and demonstrate extraordinary grace. The Monarch Caring and Community Award evokes a sense of pride, compassion, selflessness, and commitment to doing whatever it takes to support the healing journey of our patients.
