Rob Jay
Chief Executive Officer

Veteran healthcare executive Rob Jay is the founding CEO of ScionHealth, having guided its launch in December 2021 following a transaction between industry-leading companies LifePoint Health and Kindred Healthcare. Before becoming CEO of ScionHealth, the Brandon, Mississippi, native served as Executive Vice President of Integrated Operations for Brentwood, Tennessee-based LifePoint, where he oversaw physician services, growth and outreach, development (mergers and acquisitions), health informatics and technology services, and revenue and network management.

Prior to LifePoint, Rob spent time at RCCH Healthcare Partners as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, eventually helping to manage its transition into LifePoint. Rob also was an integral part of the merger between RegionalCare Hospital Partners and Capella Health.

Additionally, Rob has served as Vice President of Development at Vanguard Health Systems, Controller of Health Management Associates, and Controller of St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. Rob holds a bachelor’s degree in professional accountancy from Mississippi State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Millsaps College.

Rob’s history of working through multiple, complex mergers makes him the ideal leader to create a strong foundation for ScionHealth. His leadership of the company will be guided by his deep operational expertise; successful track record for managing organizational change; propensity for developing strong teams; commitment to fostering diversity; and focus on driving growth.

Rob formed and leads a founding executive leadership team at ScionHealth that is made up of proven leaders who came over from either LifePoint or Louisville, Kentucky-based Kindred and who, through their industry experience and institutional knowledge of the legacy companies, have positioned the new enterprise to hit the ground running.

Danny Brywczynski
President, Specialty Hospitals

Highly experienced in strategic planning and enhancing operations in healthcare systems, Danny Brywczynski joined ScionHealth at the time of its launch in December 2021. He leads the operation of our 76 Specialty Hospitals as well as a broad range of operational areas, including value-based care; integration, strategy, and innovation. 

Danny came to ScionHealth after serving at LifePoint Health as Vice President of Strategy and Innovation, and prior to that, Vice President of Integration. He was instrumental in the successful merger of LifePoint Health and RCCH HealthCare Partners, and previously was Vice President and Chief of Staff for RCCH. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and finance from Wittenberg University.

Lisa Estrada
Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel

Lisa Estrada became ScionHealth’s top legal counsel upon the company’s launch in December 2021, and she now oversees several functions including Legal, Governance, Risk and Compliance, Human Resources and Diversity, Inclusion and Equity. Prior to that, she served nearly two years as Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer at LifePoint Health, where she led an ethics and compliance team that was responsible for driving a culture focused on ethical business practices and compliance with laws and regulations. Prior to LifePoint, Lisa served as Senior VP and Chief Compliance Officer for Fresenius Medical Care North America. Before that, she was a partner at the law firms of Foley & Lardner LLP and Arent Fox LLP. Lisa is a graduate of George Mason University School of Law and earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Todd Flowers
Chief Financial Officer

Todd oversees all financial operations for ScionHealth. He previously served as Chief Financial Officer, Strategy and Support Services, a role he held for both ScionHealth and the legacy Kindred Healthcare organization. He originally joined Kindred in 2011, and played a central role in financial planning and supporting transactions that transformed the company's portfolio. Todd holds a bachelor's degree in economics, with a concentration in finance, from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.

Dean French, MD, CPPS
Chief Medical Officer

As executive vice president and chief medical officer for ScionHealth, Dr. Dean French provides strategic leadership while overseeing the company’s physician, clinical and quality strategies, with the goal of helping establish a lasting legacy of strong, compassionate clinical and physician leadership. Dr. French is an experienced physician executive − having previously served as Chief Medical Officer for multiple hospitals − and also has a long track record of operational and financial success as a hospital CEO.

Most recently, Dr. French served as the CEO of Northwestern Medical Center in Saint Albans, Vermont, and was previously the CEO of Community Medical Center in Missoula, Montana, and of Canyon Vista Medical Center in Sierra Vista, Arizona. During his nearly 20 years of medical leadership and extensive C-suite experience, he has demonstrated an ability to pursue innovative quality and clinical improvements in order to exceed the expectations of patients, business partners, payors and the communities the hospitals serve.

Dr. French has served as a board member in a variety of organizations, including the Vermont Association of Hospitals, OneCare Vermont (all-payer ACO) and the Missoula Economic Partnership. In addition to his distinguished career as a strong physician leader, Dr. French proudly and honorably served our nation in the U.S. Army Special Forces (Airborne) in both active and reserve duty for nearly nine years. Dr. French earned a medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine and a bachelor’s degree in microbiology with honors from the University of Arizona.

Brian Walton
President, Community Hospitals

Brian Walton presides over ScionHealth’s national network of community-based short-term acute care hospitals. He is a veteran healthcare executive with a demonstrated record of driving strong operating performance, improving productivity through process improvements, and finding creative solutions in response to an ever-changing industry landscape. He previously served as ScionHealth’s Executive Vice President of Integrated Operations, overseeing supply chain operations, revenue cycle, health information management (HIM), clinical documentation improvement, construction and facilities, enterprise analytics and information technology.

Brian came to ScionHealth from Ardent Health Services where he served as Chief of Corporate Operations, overseeing financial operations for a system comprised of 30 hospitals with more than 1,200 employed providers and $4.7 billion of net revenue. Brian holds undergraduate degrees from New Mexico State University, and an MBA from Texas Tech University’s Rawls College of Business.
